Watauga River Trout

From Episode 1313

There’s a wonderful reward awaiting anglers fishing Tennessee’s trout streams. With all that’s happening in the world and the difficulty of air travel, a lot of Tennessee trout anglers are postponing trips to Alaska, Montana, and Colorado. That’s because they can find some of the best trout fishing anywhere in the world without leaving Tennessee. There’s a place on the Watauga River just outside Elizabethton, in the northest corner of the state, that Wild Side Guide Ernie Paquette calls a little bit of heaven.

Get the lowdown on the Watauga River by visiting www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watauga_River.

For the latest on fly-fishing, go to www.flyfish.com and www.tnflyfishing.com. Also, be sure to visit www.tu.org, home of Trout Unlimited.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency provides ample opportunity for anglers to enjoy our state’s beautiful lakes, rivers, and streams. There’s a bounty of fish out there just waiting to be caught, so go at it! Visit the agency’s web home at www.tnwildlife.org to discover the best locations as well as the latest regulations and to purchase your license on line.
