Cold Weather Canoeing

From Episode 1012

Cold Weather Canoeing

Paddling the many beautiful streams in Tennessee doesn’t have to be just a warm-weather sport. Wild Side Guide Holly Sherwin shows us that with a little preparation, a healthy dose of common sense, and an adventuresome spirit, you can easily be up the river without a shiver.

Holly and a few of her friends challenge the chilly waters of the Harpeth River in middle Tennessee to show us how to navigate through frost biting waters on a cold winter’s day. Expert advice is also offered by David McKinney of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.

The water is clear, the wildlife is easier to see, and the tips on the proper cold-weather clothing are invaluable, so come on along!
