Youth Duck Hunt
It’s a scene repeated many times across the state during duck season,
hunters huddled in a blind on a cold winter day, eager for the sound and sight
of their flying targets. But Wild Side Guide Craig
Owensby shows us that hunting is not the only reason for being out in the
field. Some hunters just like to be close to nature. In the duck blinds of west
Tennessee’s river country, there is a social bond - a brotherhood - that
has survived thousands of years.
Some experts believe duck hunting around Reelfoot lake in northwest Tennessee is the best in the country because it’s right on the Mississippi Flyway, one of the major migration paths ducks take when they fly south for the winter.
