Pickwick Striper

From Episode 1102

If you get a little queasy on the open water you might want to sit down for this one. That’s because we’re going for a bumpy ride on the Tennessee River just below Pickwick Dam. Hold on to your rod and reel as we make our way through the waves for a wrestling match with the mighty striper. Wild Side Guide Ernie Paquette - a veteran of many fights with a big fish - is ready for the challenge.

Thanks to fishing guide Jeff Hopkins for helping Ernie show us the bait and techniques to use in landing some fighting stripers on Pickwick.

Pickwick Lake is located in southwest Tennessee along the border with Mississippi and Alabama. You can find more info at www.pickwicklake.net. Fishing guide Jeff Hopkins can be reached at (731)689-5545.

Be sure to check the latest fishing and boating regulations at the home of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency: www.tnwildlife.org.

Remember to observe extreme caution when fishing near dams due to scheduled water release periods. Make sure you check beforehand to determine whether such fishing is allowed in light of new government security measures.
