Rumbling Falls Cave
Next time you lose your patience when it takes so long to do something, think about how long it’s taken Mother Nature to perform her miracle inside the Cumberland Plateau. Oh, say millions of years...give or take a few thousand. Underneath the natural beauty of Fall Creek Falls State Park lies a subterranean shelter that snakes along for 15 miles called Rumbling Falls Cave. The highlight of the cave is the Rumble Room, a colossal cavern 20 stories tall...one of the largest cave rooms in the U.S.! Wild Side Guide Dennis Ferrier provides a peak at this underground wonder and tells us how it might be affected by a nearby water treatment plant.
Pictures of the Rumble Room are simply spectacular and can be seen at www.darklightimagery.net/rumbleposterprints.html.
