Flintville Fish Hatchery
We all know that fishing is a popular pastime on Tennessee’s rivers, lakes and streams. But how many of us know that science plays an important role in helping the fish to bite? It’s the kind of science that is alive and well in Lincoln County, Tennessee. That’s where you’ll find the historic Flintville Fish Hatchery. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency has been operating the hatchery for more than 60 years. During that time literally millions of rainbow trout eggs have been hatched and raised to catchable size, then released into streams covering a large section of our state. Wild Side Guide Terry Bulger takes us behind the scenes and introduces us to the men who make sure we never run out of rainbow trout in Tennessee.
Learn more about the limitless fishing opportunities in our state by visiting TWRA’s website at www.tnwildlife.org. Link to pictures of the Flintville Fish Hatchery while there and be sure to purchase your fishing license as well!
